We thought we’d stay a month in Lisbon, but after eight days we moved on — not because we didn’t like it, we did — because there’s so much to see in Portugal.
In the Expo Marina, we took advantage of our easy access to trains, metro, buses, and bike paths to explore Portugal's largest city and its capital. On our last day in Lisbon, we visited the Maritime Museum to quench our thirst for Portugal’s Age of Discovery. During the 15th century, Henry the Navigator and Vasco de Gama departed from Lisbon to explore routes to new lands, including Madeira, Cape Verdes, and around Cape of Good Hope (Africa) to India. Replicas of the ships used were on display.
